Charge 5 isn't charging

My Charge 5 fitbit stopped working on Thursday.  I have owned it since July 2023.

Blank screen... I assumed the battery was dead so I charged it

After an overnight charge the tracker still wasn't working so I followed the instructions to reset (several times) with no change.

I finally got the unit to  flash between the logo and the time screen but would do nothing else

I followed the instructions to do a hard reset. Still no change.

I removed the charge from the fitbit app and restored it and at that time I changed the watch face.

NOW: the tap to wake brings up the fitbit logo then I tap to wake againto see the clock face.  The clock dislplays the time that it was when I restored the app to the charge but it doesnt keep the correct time.

At this time I am assuming the Charge 5 is completely dead... It's ironic that there has been a flood of charge 5 owners that have started having problems at the end of this week in this community. If the charge 5 is dead I will write it off as a bad purchase and get a Apple Watch.
