One day my Fitbit started flashing red on the bottom (where the green light usually is) so I assumed it was running low on battery. But after this moment I would have the same problems for weeks on end. My heartrate wasn’t being tracked anymore, and the green light that’s usually on is completely shut off. Then it started tracking my steps incorrectly, on display l, my steps would shoot up by hundreds even if I’m just sitting down. Then the battery started draining quickly, like after five hours it would go from 100% and plummet to 0%. I’ve tried restarting it from the device and from the charger, the updates are up to date aswell. Plz help.

Hello @NicoBWasTaken
Have you had a chance to check if Heart rate is turned on in the Settings on your Charge 5?
Regarding your rapid battery drain, when my Charge 5 started having rapid battery loss, I restarted and recharged my device multiple times over several days. As soon as I saw a rapid drop in battery, I restarted my Charge 5 and put it on the charger until it was back to 100%, often doing this multiple times in a day. Eventually, this process got my device "unstuck" and the battery went back to lasting 6-7 days. Although there's no guarantee that this will work for you, it might be worth a try.
Another non-conventional troubleshoot step that a user tried to get their Charge 5 working was exposing it to freezer temps. If you're interested in trying this, here's the thread where they describe what they did (<-- click link)
I've read some users report that Support had them do a factory data reset which restored their green light (heart rate sensor). This will delete your data from the Charge 5 and reset the device. If this is something that you want to try, let us know and we'll provide the steps for this process.

I’m experiencing exact same problems! So frustrating. I used to love my Fitbit but starting to hate it and not sure what to replace it with. Battery “dying” only to plug it in, and within minute it’s showing 60% charge. Steps being added by hundreds only to disappear when I sync with app. Random turn offs. Now heart rate function is not working. Restart didn’t help. So frustrating!

Hello @Laney555
The team is aware of the step tracking issue and is working on fixing the problem. So far, we haven't seen a timeline for the fix.
In regard to the battery & heart rate sensor issues, it looks like you've already tried the recommended troubleshooting without success. The next step would be to contact Support (<-- click link). Complete the prompts until you get the option to chat or call.
Depending on how long you've had your Charge 5, you might have options under warranty.
