Charge 5 keeps turning off

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Fitbit was given as a gift last May 2023. I charged it and restarted it. However,  even if the battery says 100 %, it will be on for a while less than 10 minutes on my hand, then turns off.
I kept on troubleshooting it by fully charging and restarting but still remains unlit or not working Please advise.

thank you

Hi there, @MPurple. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. It's sad to hear that your Charge 5 is still not working properly despite the steps you've done so far. I understand where your concern is coming from as your device is not that old. I'll do my best to help you!

As a first approach, please make sure you've restarted your Charge 5 as described here.

If the restart doesn't work and your Charge 5 doesn't vibrate during the restart process, please follow the steps below:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again.

The only sound advise that you gave to MPurple was to restart the fitbit. It has nothing to do with the charging cable. I am experiencing the same thing as many others are and I believe that it has to do with a software update by fitbit. I called customer service and the only thing that they could tell me was that it might be the third party clock face. If this is an issue, why put third party clock faces on the tracker? I have had all fitbit charge watches and never experienced this until mid 2023. I wish the company would fix this issue with so many customers complaining about it. I've heard that Fitbit has lost a lot of customers because of this...I am also now looking into a different fitness tracker elsewhere.
