Charge 5 lost data after syncing

My watch randomly stopped syncing to my app today, which I noticed around 8:30pm when going to check my stats and add in my exercise. My watch itself had been tracking everything as per normal - steps, HR, calories etc. I attempted to sync it multiple times, disconnected and reconnected bluetooth, restarted the app (including force stop), restarted the watch, disconnected and reconnected the watch, none of which seemed to work.

After uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app, it finally started syncing again. However, while my total step count is consistent with my watch, it seems to be missing about 10 hours worth of data - when you open to the 15 minute intervals, there is no data for 10 hours. The app also cannot retrieve my hourly activity (250+ steps), heart rate or active minutes during this time - it's as though I was not wearing my watch for that time, but I was wearing it all day and it was tracking everything normally (HR, calories and active minutes were appearing on my watch normally). My active minutes are still on my watch but not showing on my app. Meanwhile, my watch calories went from ~2,200 down to 1400 after syncing to my phone.

Is there any way to get this data back or is it lost for good? It's very demotivating that data from half my day is essentially gone 😔

Hello there, @9n. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 5 before reaching out. I understand how you must be feeling.

Since when you've been experiencing the syncing issues? When was the last time sync of your Charge 5 before performing all troubleshooting steps you've mentioned? While reading your post, it seems like your Charge 5 was not able to sync lately (I mean, not just the day you posted here, but previous days).

If the above describes your situation, that would explain the issue you're having now. Please note that it's an expected behavior as you should've logged in to sync your Fitbit device before unpairing it. Going a bit deeper into this, note that most Fitbit devices store up to 7 days of detailed minute-by-minute data. If you wait longer than 7 days before syncing, you may only see the most recent week's detailed data. Summary data (calories, distance, steps, and floors) will be stored for 30 days. Nevertheless, if your Fitbit device was unpaired from your Fitbit account during this period of time, neither the 7 days can be recovered or restored.

However, if you remember the exact amount of steps or the name of the activity you performed, you can try manually logging the activity. For more information, see How do I manually log exercises in the Fitbit app?

Also, I'd like to ask you if the syncing issue was fully solved?
