Charge 5 not getting text notifications

My charge 5 won’t get text notifications. It gets phone calls notifications, but not text. I noticed that it would finally get a text notification if I had the text show on the front of my phone , a text preview, which I don’t like to do for privacy reasons . Is there another way?

Thanks for the details regarding the inconvenience with Charge 5.

Please check all the necessary requirements and if you already tried all the steps listed here to resolve problems with notifications.

In addition to the steps mentioned earlier, make sure that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app installed and to check all the compatibility requirements here.
