Hi @Cstamp52, welcome to the Fitbit community! It's great to have you here!
Let me help you with the issue you are currently having with the battery of your Charge 5 that is not holding its charge.
Usually we suggest some tips to improve the battery performance for issues similar to yours. Those are contained in our help article Extend your Fitbit device's battery life. It looks the draining is important, so in this case i suggest to check them out and see if there's an improvement.
In addition, you can restart your device if you haven't done so:

I did the button thing and the Fitbit was on charge overnight. This morning I took it off charge at 07:40 (100%) and within an hour it was at 1%

I've had the same problem for 6 months now, I ditched my fitbit but I really want a fix for this, I tried everything and nothing worked so far, I realized mine drains because the screen freezes and i have to tap the screen twice to turn off the screen again,, this happens every couple of minutes, it's vey random and it started happening after an update 😞
Even pressing the button on the charger doesn't do anything i think, the logo never turns on. I just get the charging screen or the home screen that freezes.

I’ve been having the same problem a couple weeks now, and it happened suddenly going from a charge lasting 6ish days to barely lasting 24 hours.
Tried restarting it both on the settings menu and using the button on the charger, did nothing. I have barely any apps or notifications enabled (but like I said, it was sudden and not over time it lost the time it stays charged). Something had to have happened with an update recently considering how many Charge 5 users are having the same problem recently. Mine was a gift and there is no way I can afford a replacement to a newer model
