Hello @Buddie71

I personally have them turned off but I've just checked the App and can tell you where to find the settings for it.

Go to the Today screen in the App on your phone.  Tap your profile picture, then Charge 5.  Select Notifications, then you can toggle On the Notifications for: Calls, Text Messages, and Calendar Events.  There's also an option to get notifications from the App itself.

I hope that helps to solve your problem.

On the device's settings, turn off Do Not Disturb (DND) Mode. Just went through this with my wife's last night.

I use:

FitBit Aria
MyFitnessPal and MapMyRide, Garmin VivoSmart

doesn't work for me with android. it worked yesterday? i've uninstalled/reinstalled the app, unpaired/paired. For something that is "new" there are a whole lot of bugs.

DND and sleep mode off. if i do a test call from the app it works. if i send myself an email or test it doesn't. also, the notification icon is no longer on the screen.

Hello, welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @Buddie71 @SunsetRunner.

Thank you for all the information that you've provided regarding the problem that you've been experiencing with your Charge 5 and the troubleshooting steps that you already tried.

Before considering other options, make sure to follow all the steps listed here to resolve problems with notifications. This has been useful for other users experiencing the same problem.

In addition to the steps mentioned earlier, make sure that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app installed and to check all the compatibility requirements here. Keep in mind that you need Android OS 8.0 or higher or Apple iOS 13 or higher on your phone and that you won’t see notifications on your Fitbit device if you turned on the Do Not disturb Icon or Sleep Mode.

Hope this helps, I'll be around.

@SunsetRunner Thank you for your reply and confirming that you already tried the steps suggested.

For iPhone devices, make sure the Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked for your preferred apps under your phone's settings > Notifications. If the issue persists after double checking these settings, give a try to the following:

  1. Forget your Charge 5 from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Turn off other Bluetooth settings nearby.
  3. Force quit the Fitbit app and restart your tracker.
  4. Open the Fitbit app and pull down on the screen to force a manual sync.
  5. Try receiving a call or text notification to test your tracker.

I'll be around.

I have had my charge 5 for about a week now, and still no reminders to move coming through. I have followed all the steps and have logged over 6hours working on this.

This is my 3rd fitbit and the most disappointing. Any updates on this issue David?

Hello Katedh

If the reminder to move is ticked in the app, have you tried to restart your Charge 5?

Hello @Buddie71  go to your profile picture in the Fitbit app, then go to your Fitbit notifications, then the notifications from your apps & it gives you a list of apps that you want notifications from you have to toggle each app to green to get your notifications on your Fitbit.

Hi Suzi1
I’m not sure why this problem has surfaced again but I actually got my problem sorted out by restarting my Charge 5 before Christmas.
Thank you for your interest though.

@Katedh  is it possible you accidently turned on DND or water lock? It can be frustrating getting to the bottom of an issue, but what did customer support say?
