Charge 5 product error on Google's system

Hello! My wife and I both had Fitbit Ionic trackers that were both replaced by fitbit with Charge 5 trackers, at the same time.

My wife's Charge 5 was then replaced under warranty as the battery developed a fault.

Mine has never been replaced under warranty and has developed a glitch whereby it switches off when I track exercise. I tried all of the online advice without success and then did a factory reset, only to be greeted with a message that it will not connect as it was reported lost or stolen (it wasn't).

Customer Support has since confirmed that it was "retired" from their system as it was replaced under warranty (it wasn't, but my wife's one was).

If you are still following this, Customer Support cannot do anything to help, even though the error rests with Google's records, and it leaves me with a tracker that is not useable anymore!

Not sure where I go from here, as I have exhausted the Customer Support options. I want to post it to Google's CEO with a letter explaining my experience but there is not a chance it will make it to their in-tray, is there!?

@ExmouthSteve   Fitbit's Warranty is one year, except in the EEA and Australia, where it is two years.  You can find your Charge 5's activation date in the settings app on the device itself.

An older model can still be under warranty if it was purchased from an Authorized Retail Partner.  Is there a chance that your Charge 5 is still under warranty?  The Ionic recall was announced in March 2022.
