My Charge 5 is brand new.  Used it yesterday morning. But it didn’t sinc beyond 11 steps. Screen went dark. All night in charger now screen has red circle around a white x and nothing will change the screen.

Thank you for all the information that you've shared about this inconvenience with your Charge 5. 

 

This happens sometimes when a firmware update could not be completed successfully. If you haven't done so already, please make sure that you've tried the three pulse restart procedure, as this has been helpful for other users:  

 

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end of the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.
