I have the same problem ,it stopped working and disconnected to my phone exactly at 15:21 GMT+2:00 during a work-out. The battery was at 88% procent.
The reset procedure doesn’t seem to work either. A red light in the back does go on for a moment when you charge it. But that is all it does.
One detail is dit notice during my work out, is that screen showed on and off the Fitbit logo before going dark completely. Which happen after the last sync and before 15:45 GMT+2:00 (when I finished my work-out).
Based on other threads, the cause maybe a firmware update ? According to my iPhone my Fitbit had 194.91 before it went dark.

We are all being taken for fools by Fitbit, see more here https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-5/Charge-5-is-not-working/td-p/5661827

Nothing mate, they want you to buy a new watch, the exact same thing keeps happening to multiple people at the same time. Here's a post that I did about the same thing in 2022. If even one person resolves the issue then they will mark the thread as resolved with a solution, even though others are saying that the solution hasn't worked for them.
This has happened to both mine and my wife's at exactly the same time. It has happened to so many people that I have my suspicions that it has been deliberately programmed into the software to do this. Apple did this exact same thing to their Iphones and they were fined for it. There are quite a few threads on this and moderators end up closing them without addressing the problem

Same thing. So upsetting. I use it for health purposes and now it just won’t come on no matter what I try. Just a dark screen. I won’t buy another as this is my third in 3 years. I am so tired of companies taking advantage of people.

Okay I tried again this morning (29/09/2024), Connected the Fitbit to the charging cable. It gave a lil buzz as it should. And for a moment it should the Fitbit sigil. Then went dark again. I did the reset procedure, a buzz and this time the Fitbit sigil stayed on the screen. The iPhone however still cannot find the Fitbit. Waited an half an hour, nothing changed. Reset the fitbit again, the screen goes dark, but this time I was able to sync the Fitbit to my IPhone. However the screen remained dark. Only to flash the Fitbit sigil so now and then, teh screen remains dark, but it seems to sync again. The Fitbit seems to restart continuously only offering a short time to sync. So it is doing something but in it’s current state it is unusable for any sport activity.
New fact: the Fitbit app on my iPhone gave an error that Fitbit wasn’t’ able to install one or more apps. I do believe it is stuck in a loop.
Translation: we cannot update/insta;; one or more apps. Try again.

Same thing happened to me Sept 27. For the last 2 days it has come alive after a reset, but goes black after a minute. Was fully drained over the night last night and has been sitting on the charger for a while. Now it is stuck on the logo screen and will not reset anymore.
Fitbit, please advice! …beyond the usual reset.
Will contact support tomorrow.

Thanks, that was useful information. This firmware update was first offered last year, which is what I believe the cause of it. They should removed all the bugs from it by now, but yet they did not.

Yes, they do not seem to have control over their firmware. I got a new Charge 5 last year after a new firmware drained battery and here we go again.
My current firmware is 20001.194.91.

Here is another thread (closed though) on the topic: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-5/Fitbit-Charge-5-dead-after-firmware-updates/td-p/5637062 only several attempts on rebooting it may help if your lucky.

I made a support request at support.google.com the Fitbit help center.
And one with my retailer Coolblue, as I still have 11 months of warranty.
I do believe this community is more meant for self-support, and if none of the solutions actually fix the problem contact support.
It is my only google related product, so I am not familiar with their effectiveness and lead time.

Small update, mine is getting replaced. I received a case number from Google after coolblue reported it.
They work pretty fast, thou contact was lost for a couple of days, due to my response wasn’t monitored.
I reopened my case through the Fitbit help center and I got my return labels soon after that. You have to return your faulty device before receiving your replacement. Not a problem cause my Fitbit is completely dead ☠️.
