Charge 5 screen is blank, still syncs data

I have had my charge 5 for 2.5 years and the display (over the last week) has started to flicker and has now the charge 5 screen is black/blank - still works in regards to logging information.

I have tried resetting the app and the device still no luck - out of options so unless someone has a magic answer I will have to buy a different make of fitness wearable!

Same here, tracking and sync with the app works but screen is blank and doesn't respond.

Is there any way to reset the charge 5 when the screen is blank and not responding? Plugging the charge 5 in and pressing the button on the cable does nothing...

Also app indicates that there is an update available. When I update, it says that the update was successful but there is still an message in the app saying that there is an update available.

Still stuck on black unresponsive screen...

A coouple of weeks ago my Charge 5 started to "run out" of battery after only a couple of days but, when I put it on the charger, the device said it still had some charge left (lowest being at 16%).

Was wondering if it's a software fault that needs an update or the device itself is faulty.

Bought it in September 2023 (Currys/PC World, UK).

So, been offered a whole 35% off a new Fitbit as I'm out of warranty. 🤦

Bit of a joke really, release a software update to kill off older Charge 5s then force folk to buy new instead of fixing the update. 😡😡😡

TIA

You were offered more than me, regardless if they offered 80% I would never buy their products again.  Looking at samsung myself, check reviews for them

Yes,but only because it was already replaced in November last year

I missed out by about 14 days, I do believe though they have failed to provide a service that was originally purchased for.  The product is no longer working due to no fault of the consumer.  I do think more should be done from fit bit side to continue the service.  Bitter pill to swallow but hey ho lesson learnt

If it was a failed software update that bricked them everybody should be recompensed

Try telling them, asked for a refund but due to policies(yawn), non refundable.

Same problem here. Started just a few days ago. I've had all the previous Fitbit in this style and they always start messing up at about the 2-3 year mark.

I've done a few hour long session on chat 'help'.  I went from having a blank screen that would only display white connected to the charger to a watch that wouldn't sync.  I got it syncing all by myself by letting it get to zero battery.  Now I'm back to a battery that goes from 100% to zero in a few hours.  All chat could say is they know there's a problem and they're working on it but couldn't say if it would be days, weeks or months.

All this started with a faulty update resulting in black / blank screens and inability to sync.  i got over that but now my battery dies in a few hours.  @help gave me instructions on improving battery life but i think that ship has sailed.  I could always strap a powerbank to my arm and leave it on charge while i wear it i guess.  I think the whole thing is a fiasco similar to the Windows update by Crowdstrike a few months ago.

Does anyone have a phone number to talk to a Fitbit support technician? I'm tired of dealing with this texting in my problems

@Woody25 you'll need to contact customer support by going to this page - click to go there - and filling out the required fields. As you progress, you will go from page to page, adding any required information. Ultimately you will arrive at the place where you can decide to receive or to make a call directly to support. It's the way you'll get things going.
