Charge 5 screen is not working

To begin with, I have found my fitbit to be the most wonderful and helpful tool in helping me stay on track with my health goals. Really, really great.

Three weeks ago my charge 5 lasted the best part of a week charged. The screen worked and I was a happy customer.

It may be coincidental... but then the last firmware update imposed itself on my device.

Now, well the screen hasn't worked at all for 3 days, even though my charge 5 is (sort of) still working.

Now, the battery can't hold charge for a day.

Now, I've gone from a really happy customer to beyond disappointed.

Unmitigated disaster.

I've tried all the advice in here about resets - nothing is happening. It vibrates when I reset it with the charging cable, but still no screen.

Unbelievably disappointing.

Of course, it might not have been the firmward update. Perhaps my 10 month old device packed it in of it's own accord.

Either way, unbelievably disappointing.

Sorry to have this rant - not my usual style, but didn't know where else to go.

Yep, hi again folks.

Ultimately, I took it back to my place of purchase and they replaced it under warranty.

Nice outcome, no other choice really.

Thanks to all for advice.

Happy New Year!

If it is 10 months old, return it!

Presumably your stats will transfer to the new one?

Do try not to get too depressed!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @smif. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 battery can't hold charge and that the display isn't visible.

Please follow the instructions of: Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life? Also, try changing your Charge 5 clock face by following the instructions of: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?

@juggler24960, welcome. Thank you for your advise.

See you around.
