Charge 5 screen issue and battery issue

Hi,

Today, my Fitbit decided to start hating me. Bought it as a self-gift two months ago, late june. Don't take it off super often but have before. Up until now I've been getting about 4 days of charge out of this, which was fine considering the settings in place etc. Today, at almost full charge, I took my device off and put it down. This was at 1pm. When I came back at about 6/7pm, it was dead. Put it on charge for a bit and it was showing 100% when I came back. I left it on my bed for an hour and by the time I got back again it was flat. Plugged it into the charger and did the three button press reset thing. Device turned on, read about 12% battery. Took it off charge and he screen barely works, unable to swipe more than one screen up or down, and can't swipe to the sides at all. Also apparently pressed the google pay button, even though I never tapped it, and couldn't get out of it without resetting the device with the three buttons again. So I did that. Now it reads 40% charge and the incorrect time. Still the same responsiveness with the screen. Can someone please help 🙂

Hello @ghostlykal

When my Charge 5 started having rapid battery loss, I restarted and recharged my device multiple times over several days. As soon as I saw a rapid drop in battery, I restarted my Charge 5 and put it on the charger until it was back to 100%, often doing this multiple times in a day. Eventually, this process got my device "unstuck" and the battery went back to lasting 6-7 days. Although there's no guarantee that this will work for you, it might be worth a try.

A Charge 5 user reported that changing the clock face fixed their battery drain. If you want to try this to see if it will work for you, this page has the instructions: How to change Charge 5 clock face (<-- click link)

If neither of these work, then you should contact Support (<-- click link). Complete the prompts until you get to the option to chat or call.
