Charge 5 - screen not responsive, red light

All of a sudden, my Charge 5 screen is black and unresponsive and there is a bright red light illuminated on the back. I’ve tried restarting it and it works for a minute or two and then goes back to the red light/black screen. Any help would be appreciated

My device stopped working today too, it is stuck in a logo to blank screen loop.  Reading through the forums, do not unlink your Fitbit from your phone, this is one of the troubleshooting suggestions, apparently once this is done there is no way to relink it to do any more trouble shooting.
