Same. I was offered a 35% discount. Never had this happen when I had a
Charge 2.

This is truly so upsetting because I just transferred over to google less than a week ago and now the watch stops working. Crossing my fingers that it will come back to life in few days like it did for others. Smh...

Same here charge 5 black and unresponsive when charged,  only happened from yesterday morning 27/05.  Plug back on charger and works for a minute.  Live chat did the reset and change clock face which is still working but only five minutes ago. Fingers crossed otherwise they said will email me warranty options

I switched to Google over a week ago as well. I tried cleaning my device
but the silver plate doesn't stay on. The good news is that my Charge 6
shipped.

Mine too. How many of us are experiencing this? No solution has been offered?!

Same thing with mine. did the reset and changed the clock face even uninstalled some apps.  nothing works. just a blank screen with random lines if i scroll.

Same here! Three button restart doesn’t do anything, and of course my Fitbit is slightly over a month of being out of warranty. I’ve had several Fitbits over the years. This is my last one! I’m going to Garmin.

Same here.  Charge 5 brick.  The 3 button thing allowed me to see the clock face.  But it won't recognize that it's on my wrist, says it's synched, but no data transmitted.  100% charged battery drained in 2 hours.  I've been paying for Premium for years.  And now this .https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-5/Charge-5-screen-not-working/td-p/5601733/page/4#:~:text=FIT....

I'm still going to get to customer service.  I'd expect no less than a discount on  Charge 6 if they can't fixt the 5.

They should. I spent a half hour on live chat on Saturday night. Got an email Tuesday morning offering me a 35% discount on three different in stock models. I chose the Charge 6 bc both the 6 and the 5 use the same band ( I had bought a replacement band back in April). Mine vibrated constantly, black screen of death after logging 11k steps.  A friend joked that the device must have had a stroke. Go figure.  The 6 should arrive this Friday.  Good luck!

Looks like they’re all bricking again with no responsibility or solutions given by Fitbit / Google.
This is my second one, I’m not wasting any money on a third. So I’m looking for another brand.

I've been without my Charge 5 for several days now and I miss it.

Google sent me a discount and I purchased the 6, (I know, but I love the Fitbit)

My question is, how do I purchase an extended warranty? I am in the pool every day in the summer and I think the water resistance is, well, not resistant.

Thanks!

Wow, mine just died too on Thursday. BLACK SCREEN but I still get updates on my phone. Just the screen is dead. 18 months old. Fitbit support says tough, buy a new one. No help or empathy what so ever. I was looking on Amazon, MAN THERE ARE LOTS OF NEW WATCHES. Great prices, more functions. Time for me to try one one those. If I have to buy new every 18 months, I'm not going to pay a Fitbit price

Same tracker behavior, same support result.  They did offer me a discount on a replacement- I'm hesitant to use it for another device based on their response to this wide-spread problem.  The solution for everyone is get a new device (whether free under warranty or discount).  That isn't identifying/ fixing root cause, which tells me it could happen again with other devices & their response would be the same.  It is a shame.   I've used Fibit for years and up to now been satisfied.  The Charge is one of the few trackers that looks ok on a small wrist (don't know why manufacturers think smaller bands without smaller faces addresses the need).  The search for a replacement continues.

Is this still the case?  I can make the black screen appear by trying to use the ECG function....used to work fine now it doesn't prompt me to put my fingers on the side but just goes blank.  Comes back to the blue diamond if I put ot on the charging station.

I think I'm done with fit bit. This is the second one in less than 2
months that had a failed screen. It's sad too. I've had a fit bit since
2015 but I think it's time to move on.

So what are we to do?  The Fitbit is still tracking steps, my sleep, heart rate, etc.  I don't want to buy a new one.

My brother's Charge 5 blacked out like this last week.  What are the odds that we both have "faulty" devices?  (His was 9 months newer than mine, he purchased it from a different source, he's in the Rockies and I'm in mid-atlantic.)

Clearly they sent out a kill signal to the Charge 5 devices.

My friend’s and my devices, purchased a little over a year ago, broke down almost at the same time. The devices were purchased from different places.
