I use to “roll my wrist” to turn it on now I have to tap twice. How do I revert to wrist roll?

😃 Hello @BOP2SIX
It’s possible that you may have accidentally changed your Screen Wake settings. You can change your settings back to your preference by following these steps. Go to your clock face on your Fitbit Charge 5 and swipe down on the screen until you see the Screen Wake settings. Tap the screen wake settings until it is set to “auto”. This should put your Fitbit watch back to your preferred method of flipping your wrist.
Hopefully that solves your issue 😃 Happy Stepping

Thank you for the response! I tried your method several times and I had no success in change the screen wake setting, anything else I might try?

😃 Hello again @BOP2SIX
First and foremost I apologize for my late response. I did some digging around to see if there’s another issue that might be causing the wrist roll method not to function properly. What I found is that it’s quite possible that you have sleep mode enabled. Unfortunately it’s easy to unintentionally turn on sleep mode and not realize it. This could also cause you to not have the screen come on with a wrist roll as well. When sleep mode is on you disable your screen from waking automatically when you lift your wrist. Plus, it dims your screen, so even if you tap your screen awake or use the side button to wake it, your screen may be difficult to see. To check if you turned on Sleep Mode, go to your Fitbit’s Quick Settings menu and look for the crescent moon icon. If it’s highlighted, it’s on. Tap it once to turn it off–it should gray out. Maybe this might just be the issue. Hopefully so. Let me know 😉

This worked for me. Screen wake was greyed out on my charge 5. Turning sleep mode off made it "clickable" / 'highlightable" and enabled me toggle screen wake to Auto. Thank you Megabite!

Mine doesn’t respond to tapping ; it says screen wake: manual. Does that mean that’s the current mode or is it what you want to change to? Regardless, tapping doesn’t do anything, if I tap it twice it just goes to the default screen and still won’t wake up with wrist up

Hello @Manyrains
You here your screen set to manual. If you want to change it to waking it up with your wrist you need to set the screen wake to “Auto” ….😃 maybe this YouTube video will better explain it to you https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xVsjujp4JMY

Hello again @Manyrains
Try restarting your Charge 5. Here’s how it done: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186.htm. After you restart your Charge 5 try to set the screen wake again. Hopefully it works this time.
😃 Let me know how it goes

This happened to me - somehow 'sleep mode' was changed and switching it back worked for me.

Thank you so much, after racking my brain as to why I couldn't turn off manual mode and I did a lot of searching I stumbled across this and thank you so much as that was my problem not sure how it got changed but I'm glad it's working again. I appreciate your help. Have a great day!
