What settings would be best on my charge 5 to track my tai chi practice?

Hello @jmack789

If you wanted to add an Exercise Shortcut to your tracker so you could control the Start and End times for your practice, it might be a good idea.

From the Today Screen in the App on your phone, tap your profile picture then Charge 5, then Exercise Shortcuts.  Choose one you don’t use by swiping left to delete it and then scroll down to +Exercise Shortcuts to add one and then sync your Charge 5 to add it. Tai Chi isn’t an option but you could choose Workout or Yoga or something like that.

When you want to start a session, bring up the Exercise Shortcut and press Start, press End to finish.  Later, when you go to the Exercise session in the App on your phone you can tap the white arrow at the top right of Categorize Exercise then enter Tai Chi in the search box and you can rename it.

I hope that helps a bit.

These instructions are nowhere near what I have on my charge 5 app. I have the latest update because I just bought the thing. On The today page I only have zone minutes at the top in a large circle, steps, kilometers and calories below that. My picture, not added only appears on my profile page. Thanks for your response but I guess your app is different from mine

Hello @jmack789

Sorry my instructions weren’t quite clear enough for you.  I’ll illustrate it in pictures for you if you’ll bear with me.

Tap your profile picture (circled here).

Next tap, Charge 5 (you can see it in this picture).

Next tap Exercise Shortcuts

Then you should see this screen and be able to follow my instructions (hopefully).

Sorry, but this doesn't help as there is no picture. Am I on the same app?

I’m using iOS @jmack789

Are you using Android?

I just checked screenshots for the Android and they seem to be set up the same.

Are you using an app on a phone?  The top left hand corner of both types has a profile picture.  In my case I didn’t load one so just have the generic one.

You said you can get to your Profile Page, is that the Account page, like the 2nd picture in the series I posted for you earlier?  If it is, you can just follow from there hopefully.

Do you mean you can't see the pictures I posted?  I'm not sure how else to help. I'll try and describe it again in words.

If you look at the picture next to your name on your posts in the community.  That same picture is in the top left hand corner of the Today screen (the main screen on the App on your phone).  At the very top of the screen on that page you should see: Profile picture, then in the middle Fitbit. then at the right a mailbox icon.

Under that there should be Today written in bold in the center, and edit to the right.

Under that should be the big circle.

Under that should be the smaller circles.

Under that should be extra information about sleep etc.

I really hope some of this will help you.

If you need it, I could explain how to do it on your Dashboard on Fitbit.com.

Got it thanks. It was just the photo, or lack thereof that confused me. It's not too obvious if you haven't actually added a photo.
