Charge 5 stopped syncing and time won't show correct

1 year + 1week after purchase my fitbit stopped syncing with my phone so I was no longer able to track my activities,  I tried all the steps advised here + eventually deleted the app. Now 6 months later (after draining the battery completely while away from home) I cannot change the correct the date or time without the app. What was a useful tool became a expensive watch/heart monitor + is now useless. I do expect expensive devices such as these to have a longer life + to be able to contact the company when issues arise.

Hi there, @Jayneeh. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 has stopped syncing and the time is not updating. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

Please note that the time will be wrong if your Fitbit device hasn't synced as your Fitbit device uses the time of the device you're syncing with.

As a first approach, I'd recommend checking if your mobile device meets the requirements to properly operate with your Fitbit device. For more information, see
Fitbit Compatible Devices.

In addition, please confirm if you've tried all the steps provided here Why won't my Fitbit device sync? in the order listed.

Yes, we went thro all the steps advised last October when the fitbit
stopped syncing with the device it had been syncing with for over 12
months. Strangely it has automatically changed time to accommodate daylight
saving last October and March 2025.
The battery ran out last week + once charged did not show the correct time
or date + as it won't sync it can no longer be used.
