Charge 5 stopped syncing automatically

Hi all

I had my Charge 5 for 8 weeks without any problems then it stopped syncing automatically then started to need charging every couple of hours and then the time went erratic. I took it back and got it replaced. 3 months later it has started again. I can take it back again but I’m thinking it must be me. Has anyone had the same issues or can suggest why this is happening and what I need to do to stop it happening. I’ve done all the normal things Bluetooth, reloaded, letting it go dead and starting from scratch nothing helps. 
I’m starting to think about changing to another maker but I love my Fitbit. Can anyone help please?

I appreciate all this information that you've shared about these inconveniences with your Charge 5. 

Let me know if you mean the device does not sync when you open the Fitbit app. Each time you open the Fitbit app, your device should sync automatically when it's nearby. In the meantime, please make sure that you've followed all the steps listed in this article to resolve syncing issues. You can also find other compatibility requirements here

Regarding the problem with battery life, please make sure that you've also followed the steps provided in this articleIn addition, please complete a three pulse restart following the steps listed here below, as this has been useful for other users experiencing something similar: 

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end if the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.
