I was swimming yesterday and my Fitbit went off. I left it a bit and then tried to give it some charge but just kept vibrating then this morning it's just got a cross on. Any ideas?

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @JoolsB512!
Sad to hear you're having issues with your Charge 5. As a first attempt to get things fixed I'd suggest restarting it. Before doing so you should make sure you've synced your device to not lose any data tracked so far. Next please closely follow these instructions as timing is crucial for this procedure:
1.) Connect your Charge 5 to the charging cable which has to be connected to a power source.
2.) Press the button located on the flat end of the charging cable 3 times within 8 seconds(!), holding each press for about 1 second(!).
3.) Wait around 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears on your device's display.
If that won't work on first attempt, please give it another try.
You might also try changing the clock face to get things fixed:
Also be a firmware update could be available for your device. You can check for that in your Fitbit app.
I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Hi there, @JoolsB512. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Charge 5 and the image attached.
In addition to the steps recommended by @Talahthas, please keep in mind that if your device got wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. On the other hand, if your device has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser and dry it with a lint free-cloth.
If you've done the above but to no avail, may I know if your Charge 5 vibrated during the restart process? If it didn't, I'd recommend trying the steps below:

I had a similar problem; the Fitbits are supposed to be waterproof in the shower and swimming, but when I inadvertently wore mine into the shower, it died right away and still will not work! I contacted Fitbit directly and the asked me where I purchased it; I said Amazon. They told me that since the company I purchased it from wasn't an "authorized dealer", they would not help me or work with me on a replacement! I told them I had this Fitbit for less than one year and how would I know if they were an authorized dealer or not, they couldn't care less. So since my Fitbit is now dead, no more Fitbit for me...Why the Fitbit company doesn't work with Amazon to keep off "unauthorized" dealers I have no idea, because everything about the Fitbit I got on Amazon looked legit to me.

I did this too; I even saw the Fitbit logo but it still doesn't work, and was only on my wrist in the shower for 3 seconds and barely got wet (I took it off immediately), but it still doesn't work. I have had it on the charger overnight, changed the clock face, saw the logo, but will not work, and I have had it for less than a year.
I have done all of these things, nothing is making my less-than-one-year-old Fitbit work.

Me too! I've done absolutely everything I can. I got mine from Currys but I've given up hope so I've switched to Garmin.

I did all of these things that you suggested for @JoolsB512 but none of them worked for my Fitbit; I purchased it less than a year ago, and now it non-functioning. I have had a Fitbit for over 10 years and never had this issue before, and I am very disappointed that Fitbit doesn't value me as a customer to help me with this problem. I am researching other fitness trackers; any suggestions?
Thank you, Marion
