Charge 5 stopped working after getting wet

Have seen numerous posts from the community of their Fitbits getting wet, and of having varying degrees of success, with most unsuccessful. I have read and tried all of the suggested options put forth by moderators and others in the community, but have found nothing that helps my situation. I get a short vibration when I plug my Charge 5 into the charger, but pressing buttons and all the other stuff that's been recommended hasn't given any satisfaction.

My Charge 5 got wet in a short shower (forgot to take it off this time). When I first got it, read that it is water resistant up to 50 metres, but still never felt comfortable with that. This one time I forgot to remove it when I got into the shower, it goes blank! How can that be anywhere close to 50 metres deep?? Have been trying to find out how to directly contact support, but can't seem to find anything other than redirects to the community forum questions related to my problem.

How does one contact support directly, does anyone know?

Do you not use the Water Lock ?
