Charge 5 strap coming away from the watch

Hi all

Has anyone else had an issue with the charge 5 strap coming away from the watch? As I've come close to losing mine a few times.

I have contacted customer support, but all they can come up with is send a video of the damage... There is no damage,I just feel it might be a design fault

@oggyfraser

I've never experienced that issue.
Are you having the problem with the Fitbit bands or 3rd party straps?
Do you have other straps you can try to see if it's an issue with the strap or the watch.

Yes and I lost my Fitbit yesterday as I didn’t realise it had come off.  So annoyed

Yes, frequently and have almost lost it several times. Seems like I had the same issue with my last (Charge 4) The bands are original from Fitbit. There is no obvious damage to either the band or Fitbit. Not surprised they don't have a solution!

You've right. When I contacted them to ask if they were aware of this
problem, there only response was for me to send a video of the damage!!
There isn't any damage but I wanted them to confirm if there were any
issues ...
It was like trying to get an answer from a politician

I have the same issue with original Fitbit straps and third party.

So I would presume that there is a design fault with the locking mechanism

Yep very annoying

Mine has detached itself multiple times but luckily I've had long sleeves on and it caught on my jumper, although a while ago it had fallen off,but just by chance I looked at my watch realised it had gone and retraced my steps...

If or when I do lose it I think I will go with Garmin..

I've just encountered this problem with my Charge 4, the end of one end of which has now broken away from the body. Given that conventional wristwatches never encountered this problem, I suspect that the Fitbit design incorporates a degree of built in obsolescence. Confirmed by an 'out of guarantee' response from customer services with a discount invitation to purchase another. Sadly a Fitbit Charge 6 is excluded from their invitation so thank goodness for Black Friday. Here we go again and another otherwise working electronic item joins my old mobile phones in the drawer!

I have had the same problem. I previously had a Fitbit 4 which had strap issues. I used an alternative third party strap until I bought a new Charge 5 hoping that the problem had been resolved. Unfortunately this has not been the case. Fitbit seem to put aesthetic beauty before durability.

Fitbit don't seem to care... when I contacted them, there stock answer was
please send a video or picture of the problem...How can you send a picture
of a fault that you can't see ..may they want you to lose your device..and
then buy another one....No surely not..
