Hi there, @jamesyaich. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Charge 5.

Have you tried and checked what @DramaQueenDiva and @Julia_G have shared with you?

If the issue is still happening, please try the following steps in the order listed:

  • Unpair (or make sure you've unpaired) your Fitbit device from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Fitbit device.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Fitbit device.
  • Once your Fitbit device is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Fitbit device first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

Have you tied the device to your Fitbit account?

Hi, @jamesyaich , assuming this is a new issue and you are not seeing a message telling you to download the Fitbit app, or to set up your Fitbit, then it sounds like your Fitbit might have become unresponsive.  A restart may help this.  Please plug the Fitbit in to charge as normal, and while it is still plugged in and charging press the button on the flat end of the charging cable 3 times pausing for one second between each press.  Hopefully this will complete the restart and get your Fitbit back to working normally.  You may need to try the restart procedure a couple of times before it works, as it can be difficult to get the rhythm of pressing and pausing just right.

I hope this helps.  Let us know how it goes.  Welcome to the Community Forums!
