Charge 5 stuck on Fitbit logo

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've had my Charge 5 since June. I received this one after my previous one had similar issues to what I'm experiencing now. Suddenly the screen wouldn't light up and when I tried to restart it, it became "stuck" on the fitbit logo for hours. I tried to restart it again and nothing happened (just black screen). It's been a few days now and I've tried restarting it every day but it's not working. It seems weird that the lifetime would be so short (4 months...).

Hi there, @FanSven. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Charge 5 and your time in trying to troubleshoot it before reaching out.

In addition to the steps you've done, please try the following in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Charge 5 from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Charge 5.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Charge 5.
  • Once your Charge 5 is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Charge 5 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

I have the same problem, it appeared yesterday after I updated the app on my iphone and got the new version. Then the scren of my fitbit froze and the fitbit logo appeared on it and doesn’t respond to anything of your suggestions. The logo is still there and nothing happens.

Hi! I followed your instructions but I'm unable to do the step "Set up your charge 5" because my phone can't find it. I tried to do the next step, restarting my charge 5, but the logo does not appear. I tried restarting it three times, waiting one minute between tries but the logo does not appear. I can feel it buzz once when I attempt to restart it (pressing the button 3 times with 1 second in between each press), the buzz comes a few seconds after the third press of the button. But the screen doesn't light up and the logo doesn't appear. What should I do now?

Thanks for bringing this issue up. My Charge 5 has been like this for two days and no amount of troubleshooting is solving this issue. It's either a black screen or at most the the Fitbit logo is displayed but only when I've attached it to the charger. Otherwise, it's basically a useless brick. This coupled with the truly ghastly FitBit update and new interface is seemingly sending me towards an Apple watch. Not impressed.

copy paste solution that doesnt work

Correct! Indeed that Fitbit cut and paste “solution” has, if anything, exacerbated the problem because now my Charge 5 is no longer synched to my phone, So well done FitBit for rendering my Charge 5 obsolete

I’m having the same issue. I have tried the fix Maria recommended, with the same results as  FanSven. Not the first time this watch has been buggy for an extended period in the less than 7 months that I have had it. I would appreciate a solution.

I'm having the same issue and I've had this device less than 2 weeks. It doesn't work at all. Just all of a sudden out of nowhere nothing works. It seems to me that it's a problem with this product as there's so many people with the same problem.
