Charge 5 stuck on Fitbit logo

Hi,

Overnight i woke up to check the time on my charge 5 and when i tried to check it froze on the time. It then reset itself and was stuck on the logo screen. it has now been coming on and off being stuck on the logo screen for 6 hrs now. I have tried turning off my phone bluetooth, forgetting device on app/phone, resetting via 3 button presses on the charger with nothing working. it still vibrates when i press the buttons on the charger cable, is there any other way for it to reset? I've only had the watch for 12 months.

This happened to me a couple of days ago, and now it is happening again. That first time, I left it on the charger overnight and in the morning it was fine. I then updated the firmware thinking some auto-update issue was causing the problem. Nope, at least assuming there's not another update that's being pushed out. (And I'm not actually sure if that is a thing.) I now have it on the charger and have my fingers crossed that it will be OK in the morning. But having happened twice in just a few days, I'm worried that this is a second instance of a perfectly functional FitBit product is mysteriously ceasing to function around 12 months after I purchased it. The first time, it was my Charge 4 battery suddenly going from having days to just hours of capacity.

I just chatted with support. They took me through a few troubleshooting steps and are sending me a replacement with no fuss. I just wish it could arrive more quickly. I'm in the final 3-weeks of training before a marathon and getting my distances and pacing right is going to be a pain from constantly watching my smartphone screen... though people have been doing this since well before the advent of fitness trackers, smartphones, GPS, silicon chips, etc.

This exact thing has happened to me overnight as well. I contacted support after trying the fixes for tests and still stuck on the row of five dots. They support staff let me know they were forwarding my issue up the ladder.

Same issue. I've carried out suggested fixes to no avail. I have not yet tried switching Bluetooth off. Last try before customer support. Presently on charge but at least screen turned off, it wouldn't during night logo remained on, had to hide in drawer, the watch of course, not me.

🤣 Putting the Fitbit in the drawer was the better and easier decision.

This morning, my bright blue wrist nightlight went out as well. Plugged it in and hoped for the clock to be there. Nope. The five rows of dots are back. Tried the reset button again too. Again, no luck.

How did you go with getting a replacement? After having to push back with Fitbit saying it was out of warranty (2 years in Aus under consumer law) I have been going through the replacement process and it has been painful. Still haven't been sent one after original contact was made 4 weeks ago...

My fitbit is dead. Replacement sent ( very much within warranty) to home address and received there, tho I've been overseas until tomorrow. Hope that helps.
