I have hit the button on the charger and get the start of symbol appearing and disappearing until the circle and X reappears.

Similar situation for me but Sense 2 and button on side of watch, but what I do is keep button held in through fitbit icon and rec X, perhaps a few cycles, until it comes all the way back to regular clock face.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Hi there, @GeorgeGood. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is stuck on the red X. @JohnnyRow Thank you so much for your help!

If you haven't done so yet, I'd recommend trying the steps below in the order listed:

  1. Complete the 3 pulse restart procedure method using the charging cable once again.
  2. Please sync your device in the Fitbit app by tapping your profile picture > Charge 5 > Sync Now.
  3. If you  can't sync, please try tapping on your profile picture > Charge 5 > Tile to see if the firmware banner appears (since a new firmware version has been released for the Charge 5).
  4. If it's still unresponsive, please try changing the clock face as well and check if you're able to see anything on the display.

I have done the three pulse restart many times and all I get is the Start Up Symbol appear and disappear.  It doesn't restart.  I can't do anything with the band.  It returns to circle and X.

I have Firmware version 57.20001.194.91 on app.

I have tried step four with the clock and it won't install.
