Charge 5 stuck on a red "X"

My charge 5 has a red circle with a white x in the middle. It does not respond? What can I do to correct. First time for this problem

The Fitbit support team was unable to help me solve the problem. They
informed me I should receive an email from Fitbit concerning the warranty
on my Fitbit watch. I am still on the look out for that email

Same problem here - my Charge 5 woke me up at 2:00 am - it would buzz and display date-time of Sat Jan 01, 12:00, blank, then display the Fitbit logo, then blank, repeat...  Reset via the charger didn't work.  It continued to cycle for a couple of hours while on the charger, and is now displaying a constant red circle with a white X in it.  I took it off the charger, and it continues a constant red circle with an X.  Won't reset, Android Fitbit app keeps trying to sync but just shows exclamation point in a red dot.
