So yesterday while at the gym my charge 5 started switching off and on by itself. Was on 5 secs, then switching off. After an hour or so, a small red circle with a white x  appeared in the middle of the screen and that was the end of it. Today, I tried to charge it , nothing. Tried the famous 3 press nothing. Dead. One year . So rubbish as it my second Fitbit already dying .

Hi, @Lady_Gaga are you still seeing the red circle with the white X on your Fitbit?  If so, please try setting it up all over again.  Re-setting it up won’t lose any past data, although you will likely lose any recent unsynced data.

If the screen is completely blank, give it a couple of hours charge in a plug known to be working, even if it does not seem to be charging (sometimes a Fitbit becomes unresponsive but is not really dead…).  Once it has had a good charge try the restart procedure again (the button press method).  Be careful to give it a brief pause in between each button press.  I find if I say the words out loud I get the rhythm just right - press, pause, press, pause, press.  You may need to try this a couple of times as a single restart does not always work.  Hopefully your Fitbit will spring back to life.

If despite trying these troubleshooting steps please get in touch directly with Fitbit Customer Support on Contact.fitbit.com .  Be sure to let them know what you have already tried.  They will let you know your options.

Thanks for the reply @Julia_G @the x disappeared and the screen died completely. I contacted Fitbit and they proposed an immediate exchange since it’s still under warranty. It’s sad though, as it’s the second watch that died while still in warranty.
