I have had several fitbits including one, flex, charge HR, alta hr charge 3, charge 4 and my wife got me a Charge 5 for Christmas which was 5 weeks ago.
The first charge 5 worked fine for a few days... Then I got the logo and couldn't get past it.. rebooting would only get to the logo.
We RMA'ed that one and got my 2nd Charge 5 which the screen stopped working on the first night. It would vibrate and I could see all the info within the app.
So now Im on my 3rd Charge 5. This one failed 3-4 times trying the FW update but I finally got it to finish the update. Now that I've had it for ~3weeks, I seldom get any alerts sent to the tracker. I have an iPhone 12 pro running 16.3, on the phone settings/ bluetooth. It shows the fitbit Charge 5 as connected. However in the fitbit app, I will pull down to sync and it will give a message along the top saying "Sync is taking a while.. Sit tight..." eventually it will say up at the top "couldn't your charge 5 sync, fit it." If you click on that it takes you to the help article. Sometime restarting the app fixes it for a while, sometimes restarting the phone will fix it and when it boots back up the fitbit will get all the alerts as soon as the phone is booted. Sometimes restarting the Fitbit fixes it. Sometimes flipping bluetooth off/on will fix it and sometimes ignoring it also fixes it. Sometimes I will get the alerts from apps but not text/ calls.
None of these seem to actually "fix" the issue.. a few hours later I'm not synced again. Is there something farther I can do to fix this?

I just updated to iOS 16.3 and now my charge 5 won’t sync. Before I’d have the same issue that it would take forever to charge or say over and over that it couldn’t. I’d restart and eventually it would. But nothing works now that I have gone to the latest iOS.

Me too. Restarted on wrist, with cord to computer, restarted phone. Phone screen is screwy and won't sync. Yup I had an iphone update last night.

It seems this is across the board for all users right now, a bug they are working on according to others that have gotten thru to customer service. Nobody can sync right now

Thanks for posting this. Still on previous update so will hold for a couple of days, but still having problems with sleep and associated scores.
