HI, I own a charge 5, when I use the treadmill, I start the activity on my watch.
But it doesn't accurately record the true distance I cover.
My treadmill shows 5km, while my watch only records 1.4km.
The step count is also incorrect, showing 2000 steps, whereas my phone in my pocket during the treadmill session records 8000 steps in the Google Fit app, which seems more realistic.
I can't modify my activity in the Fitbit app; although there's a "pencil" icon and the values are editable, as soon as I save the activity, the modifications are replaced by the previous values.
How can I solve this problem?
Thank you.
Moderator edit: clarified subject.

Welcome to the community forums @memememeandme.
Thank you for sharing the inquiry regarding the Charge 5. Thanks for trying to fix it on your own.
It is important that your arms swing freely in order for the Charge 5 to count steps, and not held next to the body.
Please note that your Fitbit device may not detect the number of steps if your arm is not moving. If you walk with a normal arm swing on the Treadmill/Elliptical, it should count the proper number of steps and calories. Take a look at the article: How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?
Please on the Fitbit app, try to perform the following steps:
In addition, please confirm you are using Mobile track. It is a service that allows you to count steps using your phone even if you forget to wear your Fitbit. You can "unpair" Mobile Track from your account. On your Fitbit app go to the upper left corner, on the phone and device icon. Click on your phone icon and on the 3 dots and choose "unpair", as this feature will count the steps you record on your phone and add them to your app.
