Charge 5 turning itself off

My fitbit charge 5 keeps switching off, tried the reset and everything else and it's still the same, it's been like it since I switched over to Google

I am having the same issue. It did track and sync until about 15 Minutes ago. It won't reset with the charger.

Hi Tracey, Mine just started today. There is another post stating that each time the device vibrates, it shuts down. Mine had vibrated shortly before I notice the screen was blank. My screen is completely blank. It is, however, charging and it is tracking. I am wondering if the screen has completely died.

Hi Tracey, Customer Support has me install a new clock face from the app. That didn't work for me but maybe it will for you. They are giving a discount on a new one though. Good luck!

Oddly, the tracker is functioning but without visual. I've been given a discount for a new one. I'm going to look at alternatives before making a  buying decision. I may end up with a Fitbit but maybe not. Mine is 2.5 years old.

This is happening to me too--tried changing clock face to no avail, tried the reset by pressing button on charger to no avail. Mine seems to be doing what Tootsie617's is doing where the tracker still seems to be functional but has no visual on the FitBit itself. I noticed my screen went black during work today, maybe sometime in the afternoon? What is going on???

Contacted support--no luck. Offer of 35% off next FitBit purchase since I'm out of warranty. 😑 What a joke.

Been happening with my Charge 5 as well. Previously it was after the timer went off (previous post in this forum) now it shuts down at random and stays off. No tracking when it's off, and it only turns back on when I connect to the charger when I come home. Have done the reset from within the watch and the button on the charger. Maybe I can change the watch face but I'm not holding my breath. WTH is going on??

Now my battery is draining so fast that I won't be able to replace this before it totally tanks. 

A deeper dive indicates that there was a recent software update - I am not sure if this included Charge 5.

According to the website Tom's Guide, the Fitbit website was recently shut down for good. Also this site has an article that something similar happened in 2023 to some Charge 5s. .

My very first Charge was bricked by a software update so the discount offered of 35% won't be the driver for me to automatically buy the next version up. An extended warranty would also need to be bought in case this happens to the new one..

There are multiple posts of people in a similar position starting on October 1st.. I understand that my warranty expired but am concerned that a new Fitbit would also not work past the warranty. If this was due to the upgrade or website shut down, Google should do better by loyal users.

Looks like we will all have to carry our chargers around with us, mine doesn't track anything when it goes off and most if the time I'm at work 😡
