Charge 5 unresponsive

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since last night, my Charge 5 has been unresponsive.  I can feel a little vibration when I plug it in, but the screen is completely black.  I’ve followed the steps below (copied from other replies) and have also restarted my Fitbit by pressing the button on the charger cord times (which usually fixes it whenever it won’t sync…but no response today)

these are the steps I’ve taken:

  • Check if by any chance your phone's Bluetooth shows the Charge 5 as a connected device. If so, please unpair/remove it.
  • Remove the Charge 5 from your Fitbit account.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Set up your Charge 5 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Charge 5.

I hope you get an answer! Mine just died a few minutes ago. Same thing - completely black screen and no response to an attempt to restart by pressing the button. It was showing at 37% battery left as of an hour ago so it shouldn't have been a battery issue but regardless, it's not charging now as it sits on the charging cord.

One more thing you try, is changing your dail. In a few cases it seems to jumpstart your fitbit again. If not and you have a firmware is 194.91. Than you may want to contact Google fitbit support. Or your retailer if it is still under waranty.
