Charge 5 while swimming

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've had my Charge 5 for a little over a year and wear it while swimming about 2x a week.  When I do, I activate the lock feature and unlock when finished.  In the last couple of months, the Charge 5 doesn't capture my heart rate as it has in the past.  I usually tighten the band and can assure you that speed/force is not causing a loss of contact.  😏  Any thoughts on why it's not tracking?  Thanks.

Hi, it's good to see you visiting the community forums for the first time, @papalock

Thanks for sharing your inquiry about the Charge 5.

Could you please provide a few more details about the heart rate information  you've been getting? Let me know if you're able to see in on the Fitbit app after you sync your device. I did notice that that heart-rate tracking is disabled during your swim workout., so you shouldn't be able to see any heart rate data during that period of time. You can find more information about this feature here

Hi, @papalock As mentioned the HR is disabled when you engage the "Swimming" exercise on your Charge 5. Next time you swim try using the auto-recognize function. Before you get in the water engage "Water lock" and just start swimming, the default is after 15 minutes it records your exercise as swimming (I find I lose the first pool length). On leaving the pool just go home & sync your phone, I always get HR under these circumstances.

This is my swim this morning -

I hope this helps but if you are still stuck please post here again.

Cheers
