Charge 5 will restart while on the charger

Hello Fitbit community and support,

My Fitbit charge has been constantly restarting while plugged in to the charging connector. The connection between the Fitbit and the magnetic charger is good, and I've even purchased a new charging cable. I've tried it with different USB power sources and it still happens.

At it's worst the Charge 5 restarts muliple times a minute. But this is not all the time. Generally while this happens the Fitbit looses time sync with my phone (displays different time).

Not sure how to fix this. Is the device faculty?

Thank you!

@platymome I would perform a factory reset of the device. If that doesn’t work, I’d contact customer support for further assistance.

Hi there, @platymome. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 5 before reaching out.

In addition to the steps provided by @Heather-S, would you mind checking if your Charge 5 (not the charger) isn't dirty? For more information, see Why isn't my Fibit device's battery charging?

Hello everyone,
Thank you for the recommendations!

I've cleaned the contacts and have also done a "clear user data" reset on
the device.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to help, so l will need to reach out to
support.

It is likely some sort of internal power hardware issue or a weird software
issue.

Thanks!
