Hi, @Robertcromwell1, welcome to the community, may I suggest the following?

Check the restarting procedure as described in this Video

The timing with the cable button is critical.

Check the Fitbit app on your phone, is the Charge 5 syncing with the app? How do Fitbit devices sync their data? & Why won't my Fitbit device sync? describe what should be happening. Allowing you have been able to sync your apparently inert Charge 5 the app will show you the actual State of Charge (I apologise if you have already noted this) If the SOC is reported at low/zero check why it's not charging Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?  In particular, you need to verify the USB plug is in a live socket - check by plugging in other devices.

If you have synced the Charge 5 & Fitbit app change the clock face to another (you can change it back later) This is sometimes at the root of display problems.

Allowing you have not been able to sync, change the Charge 5 clock face, or get a positive indicator of the SOC I think your best next step will be to talk to "Customer Support". It's a good move to note the steps you have taken & the results so you can brief the agent and allow them to quickly understand your problem, Use the chat facility or phone for a prompt response.

You do not mention how long you've had your Charge 5, you may still have the benefit of Fitbit's warranty depending on where & when you bought it, if you do the agent will need this information to move your case forward.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

Definitely try the troubleshooting steps, and contact customer service if that doesn't work. If your device is out of warranty, they'll offer you a 35% off coupon to purchase a new Fitbit (does not stack with other discounts). If you purchased with a credit card, sometimes they offer an extended warranty for electronics.
