Charge 5 won't charge anymore

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello, for some reason my Fitbit Charge 5 no longer charges. I tried all of the troubleshooting tips posted on this message board and still won't work. I also tried several different outlets/ports, and even purchased new charging cables but they didn't work either.  Anyone have ideas on how I can get this thing to work again?

Update: I just spoke to customer service and they tried to sell me a new device with a 35% discount. What a scam!! I will never buy another one of these again!

Hi there, @JRGnGrace. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 has stopped charging. We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products and services into consideration.

Please note that our products are indeed designed and made to last (this goes for each product component) however, there is not an infallible way to ensure that no issues will be present in the long run. Because of this, our Warranty Policy  is set into providing as much coverage as we can. For more information about our warranty, see fitbit.com/legal/returns-and-warranty

Even though I truly appreciate you took the time to come here and express your feelings towards your experience with your Fitbit devices and also want to find a resolution to your issue, my best advice is to keep the conversation with our Support Team. Note for this kind of inquiries/cases/process, there's not so much we here in the forums can do for you as this is something that our team handles based on our policies.

Thanks in advance!

Hello @JRGnGrace

There's one other unconventional troubleshooting step that you could try. A user was able to restore their Charge 5 by exposing it to freezer temps. This has worked for some users, but not all. Although the person had a different issue with their Charge 5 stuck on the Fitbit logo, it might be worth a shot to see if this could restore your device. Here's the thread (<-- click) where the user described what they did, if you want to give it a try.

I have had the same issue with my Charge 5 draining battery completely in less than 24 hours and then not charging at all.  Now have moved to another make of fitness tracker and deleted my account.  Shame as Fitbit was great until Google took over and since then have been kicked out of app, being told to change password etc.

Now have cheaper tracker which gives more than the charge 5 did and is a similar size (don't like huge watches).
