Charge 5 won’t charge

I have had my charge 5 since July 2022.  I have not been able to se it because it will not hold a charge.  This is my 3rd Fitbit.  I follow directions on this forum.  My question is when will I get the firmware update to see if it fixes the problem.  I refuse to buy another one.  Please help me fix my Charge 5

Please make sure that you've followed the steps provided in this articleIn addition, try to perform a restart following the steps listed here below, this has been useful for other users experiencing something similar: 

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end if the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

The battery can last up to 7 days; because battery life is affected by use and other settings, actual results may vary, but the battery shouldn't be draining only after one or two days. Keep in mind that some of the feature that can drain the battery more rapidly are: 

  • Built-in GPS (Charge 5 can have a battery life of up to 4 day when using this feature regularly, or up to 5 hours if you use it continuously).
  • Always-on display (Charge 5 can have a battery life of up to 3 days when using this feature). 
  • Using an SpO2 clock face (Fitbit points out in this article that you may have to charge your Fitbit device more often when collecting SpO2 data).

I take it off the charger and it immediately dies!  I charge it for 24 hours. I press the button 3 times-as soon as it comes off charger it does not work

Please just stop having everyone jump through these hoops like it's going to fix anything.

It's all over the internet that people that have followed these steps cannot resolve the issue.

I charged mine to 100% before I went to bed and it still didn't track my sleep - it's not just a battery drain issue, your company broke the Charge 5 and your company needs to fix it.

We know what the problem is and you know what the problem is: the firmware.

Acknowledge the issue and tell us you're working on a resolution before you lose tens of thousands of what used to be loyal customers.

I also have had my charge 5 since the spring 2022. Recently, after a software update  I noticed my after being in the charge for many hours my Charge 5 was still dead. This is my 5th Fitbit tracker and the first one which I've ever had a problem. I also followed directions on this forum and made contact with the fitbit support team. They had me perform the steps where i held the button in on the charge, cord end 3 times for one second each.  It did reset one time and then went dead again. After charging multiple times. The fitbit screen would turn a bright white blank screen. It had not tracker any days including steps for more than a week now. It seems awfully strange this all happened street the last softest update.  My question is when will I get the firmware update to see if it fixes the problem. I too refuse to buy another one. Please help me fix my Charge 5. If it cannot be fixed. I want a new fitbit tracker that works to replace this one.
