Charge 5 won't charge

This week I already had an issue with my Charge 5: when loading the battery it did not show the usual screen and it would not sync with my iPad. I removed it from the app and did a hard restart, connected it again and - though the data which was not synced was lost - everythind workd fine. Today, I synced at 4 p.m. and it was charged with 95 %. Then it was dead - did not respond to tapping - at 6 p.m. I put it an the charger, it obviously rebooted (Fitbit logo showing). Right after it told me the battery was low. Actually it was down to 20 %. I put it on the charger again and when I checked halt an hour later, it was dead again. I tried a hard reboot (3 times pressing the button ...), but absolutly nothing happend.

Any idea?

TIA

Gregor

BTW: I bought the Charge 5 in January 2023 - so, it is not that old, is it?

I had the same thing happen. An update caused everything to drain the battery and then nothing. Called up customer service and they said they'll get back with me. They did with a discount for a new model. So Fitbit's updates ruin our devices and they don't seem to care.

I guess there was an update recently. The app tells me, the device is at version 20001.194.91. Thx & bye

Hi, I've been having problems with my fitbit 5 for several months now. This week, the device won't charge, it won't reset, it's dead. No matter how many times I try to reset it, it won't charge, the screen remains blank. Any solution? I bought the device in November 2022. I hope customer service gives us a solution soon. Thanks!

Sounds familiar. I tried the hard reset maybe a hundred times. To no avail. I contacted costumer service, but got no answer so far. According to other contributions this seems to be a rather common problem.

This morning - i.e. 4 days after my Charge 5 started to be absolutly unresponsive - I got an email, telling me, that the batter level of my Charge 5 is low. And in the app it showed a charge level of 7 % (before that it was 95 % from the last sync on thursday).
I had left the device attached to the charger, to try a hard reset from time to time. When I checked it this morning it showed a faint green light at the back flickering shortly. When I tried the hard reset, it reacted by vibrating and showing some lines on the screen for a moment. After the three times button pushing it showed the Fitbit Logo all bright for a short moment - and died again. I tried again, but there was no green flicker on the back, no vibration, nothing - dead as before.
As for customer service: day three of waiting for a reply ...

I checked the app again and found out, that the device had synced during the night. It had recorded over 10.000 on saturday, but I did not wear it sind fryday as it's pretty much dead.

Customer service is still missing out. I am a Fitbit customer sind March 2020. Looks like we will be going separte ways in the very near future.
