Charge 5 won’t hold charge or count steps

Fitbit charge 5 - less than one year old,
Purchased May 12, 2022 through employee wellness program.

Tuesday morning my charge 5 was still showing Monday’s steps and had not logged sleep at all. I forced a restart. It carried over a couple thousand steps from Monday still, but soon died. After it was fully recharged I put it back on only to find that it still wouldn’t count steps or hold the charge for more than a few hours. I’ve tried the charger button 3 press method to restart multiple times and I’ve restarted the device from the screen. It is still draining quickly and not counting steps, tracking HR, or anything. I’ve reverted to a fitbit one to track my steps. Is there something else I can do to fix it? Is there a warranty to replace it?

It seems these devices are designed to start breaking around the 1 year mark. My battery stopped holding a charge, now the display wont work etc. Support has escalated based on abnormal battery behavior and they will send an email I guess. I full expect them to send me some discount code lol. NO WAY AM I GOING TO SPEND ANOTHER CENT for this company. Yeah I think I am about 2 months past the 1 year mark. (sigh)
