Charge 5 won't pair or sync anymore

It was all working fine before... I tried restarting the fitbit, bluetooth off and on etc. Uninstalled / Re-installed the Fitbit app (BTW, it takes an age spinning on "What are you setting up" - that's why I tried re-installing the app.

Now it gives me the number, and then hangs around on "this is taking longer than usual"

Hi there, @Matth79. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is still not pairing nor syncing. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

In addition to the steps you've tried, I'd recommend trying the following in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Fitbit device from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Fitbit device.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Fitbit device.
  • Once your Fitbit device is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Charge 5 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

Tried everything, now finally solved it 😀

Full reset, delete user data ... I guess something corrupted when it ran flat.

Wonder if there is a way to set battery level alert?

@Matth79 I'm glad to hear you managed to solve the issue with your Charge 5.

Regarding your inquiry, you can set battery low notifications. If you haven't done so already, from the Today tab, tap the settings icon. Tap Fitbit settings > Push Notifications and Email Notifications and remove the check mark for Low Battery > Sync your device to save the changes and the repeat the process to turn these notifications back on.

I would like to invite you to visit our Health & Wellness where you will find great tips and encouragement from other members and if there's anything else I can do for you, please keep me posted!
