Hi there, @CAR49ers. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is still not syncing. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

As a first approach, I'd recommend checking if your mobile device meets the requirements to properly operate with your Fitbit device. For more information, see Fitbit Compatible Devices.

In addition, please confirm if you've tried all the steps provided here Why won't my Fitbit device sync? in the order listed.

This is a friendly update of the mentioned problem since I assuming that
you are attempting to address the issue.

1. At approximately 4:00 pm (*AZ time*) on 09/20/24 my Charge 5
eventually paired after a dozen tries and started recording information,
albeit not very accurately!
2. As of 6:15 am on 09/21/24 Fitbit is recording some information on the
Dashboard, however slightly off from the Charge 5 information (Steps,
Miles, and Calories), but Zone Minutes are in sync!
3. The following did not record or sync (Sleep duration -No Date),
(Health Metrics - No Data); and (Stress Management - No Data)! The other
categories have some information, but slightly off Dashboard vs. Charge 5
even after multiple syncs.

Hopefully this will assist in addressing the remaining issues.

Hello @SPZ1684

There have been issues on the Fitbit side that affects data syncing and data discrepancies. The team is aware of the issues and have been working on getting the problems fixed.

For now, there's isn't any troubleshooting we can do on our side. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer before the problems are fixed and we see all our data properly syncing in the Fitbit app.

I will update daily until I see everything back to normal. Invoice for
beta testing will be attached to my final email. 😁

Hi @CAR49ers

I, for one, will be watching for your daily updates. That will help me know when the team has fixed the problems and users are happily using their Fitbits again.

I'll be curious to see what your final invoice looks like. 😁

BTW, are the issues across all Fitbit watches or just the Charge 5?

Tried just now to connect and sync again, seems to work again.  Thanks to the team for solving the issue.

Hi @CAR49ers

I mainly focus on the Charge 5 & 6 and Pixel Watches. Based on what I'm seeing in those product help forums as well as the Android platform forums, the various issues are affecting multiple devices. However, it seems like not all the users of the Fitbit devices are affected in the same way.

I'm currently using a Pixel Watch 3 and am experiencing syncing and data discrepancy issues. So I understand the frustration.

The fixes for these recent issues can't come soon enough for all of us.

Check things like Steps to see if the watch Steps match the Dashboard
Steps! That is an issue they are trying to resolve.

I agree that they are annoying, but they are working diligently on them.

Hello @CAR49ers & @SPZ1684

There's an update for the Android Fitbit app, ver 4.26.1, that started rolling out today, 25 Sep 2024. I got the update this morning. Although I haven't seen confirmation, I'm hoping that this update fixes the data syncing issue.

The app updates tend to rollout in waves. If you don't see the update right away, keep checking.

So far, I haven't seen any posts about an update for iOS Fitbit app. I suspect one should be rolling out soon, if not at the same time as the Android app.

Rieko, I am checking in to see if you have any updates on this issue.  Based on a different problem I posted, I cleared my data and reestablished my account after doing a 'factory reset' on my Charge 5, which fixed that issue.  Although I have not seen any posting that Fitbit fixed the syncing problem, my watch and app appear correct this morning!  I will check it over the next few days, but if you do not hear from me again, you can assume the issue is resolved.

I appreciate the assistance over the past month.

Hello @CAR49ers

Thanks for the update and letting us know that it seems your sync issue seems to have been resolved with a "factory data reset".

There have been at least 3 more Fitbit app updates since my last response. I wish there was more information for the updates other than "bug fixes and improved performance" for the updates. It does seem that there have been fewer reports of Fitbit syncing problems with the app after these recent updates.

I know there are still issues with some data syncing in the Fitbit app, especially exercise data for some users. Although I'll continue to monitor, hopefully, your issue is resolved.

It's been a pleasure to assist you. Thank you for your patience.

Well, the issue appears to have been resolved this morning! Everything seems to be in sync! I guess that tech pushed out an upgrade that did not work, and after seeing the Community uproar over the syncing problems, they backed it out overnight, which would have been the correct approach. In any event, it looks like tech is on top of it now, at least for the moment.  One small step for Fitbit, one giant leap for the Community.  May the Force be with You.

Looks like we're both in the same boat. I spent an hour with fitbit
customer support. This support was specifically for the charge 5! This so
called " specialist " was as knowledgeable as google AI which is just as
useless. For it to suddenly stop syncing and nothing else changed is a
fitbit software issue
