Charge 5 won’t sync

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

All morning my charge 5 won’t sync to my iPhone 11. I’ve gone through every step including uninstalling the app, turning blue tooth off and on, pairing again, restarting both devices. Only thing I haven’t done is a factory reset which I had to do last month when alarms stopped working and I don’t really want to do again if that’s not the problem.

As of 2:20PM (Eastern Time).  I was able to sync again.  I didn't have to install a new version of the iOS FitBit software.

In future, you might want to consider updating the sync help page (https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1866.htm) with this information to save users hours of troubleshooting ☹️

For the record, the problem is NOT with the new version of the Fitbit app.  How do I know this?  I only updated the app today and I've been having this problem since Sunday.

Yeah, I wish the notice was up sooner about the problem being on the Fitbit end.  Spent a lot of time today trying everything several times only to find a notice at 2:15 that it was across the board and not me.  I panic because I am coming up on 2 years without a day missed and really don't want to lose data.

Except that in the 36 hours it took for FitBit to understand there was a problem and acknowledge it most people had assumed it was the normal messy Fitbit problems and undertaken ALL of the recommended troubleshooting steps which means all that data is gone.

Perhaps not that big a deal expect for all the unnecessary troubleshooting being done when we could have been doing almost anything else productive (like working out).  If we have to spend half our life troubleshooting our own tech I sometimes start to wonder just how much more convenient it is than a clockwork watch, some paper, a pen and a rotary phone that doesn't follow you out the door when you leave home.

Phone shut down, came back, and now it syncs. (No idea why but OK). My
phone SW was up to date, FB Firmware was good, and App was freshly
downloaded. Either way, it syncs! Now let's see if it stays afloat (Dad
joke).

It appears that the issue may have been resolved. I was able to synch my Charge 5 just a few moments ago. Hope this fixes the issue for all the others as well.

Is this also affecting its charge as my battery has run out super quick today (approx 70% in 6 hours) and the watch is stuck on home screen making me unable to select workout

I haven't got a charge 5 (happy with my charge 4), but just gave you a thumbs up and want to say effing well done to you for working this little lot out and sharing it with the charge 5 community....

Good luck, this had been going on for 6 months, a new unit should never
have these problems, I returned mine…

My phone finally synced, but then it didn't show a heart rate, and now it doesn't show steps in real time.  I think it is still a work in progress.  At least I hope.

If Fitbit KNEW there was a problem, why not simply inform everyone? Just mention there is an issue, that it's being worked on, and allow engineers some time to figure out and solve the problem.

Instead tons of users wasted time trying to troubleshoot this issue, and perhaps like me losing data (sleep data) in the process.

Not to mention the drain on Fitbit support to deal with many angry users.

Fitbit get better at this. Please.

Progress for me as well.  Was able to catch up on sleep and metrics.

Was in a workout (lifting) and HR wasn't at all accurate but when the sync started to work HR bounced up to normal.  I think they are working on it, just not communicating very well.

Not for me.  Did you do anything?
