Charge5 needs updates:

1)  stairs added back, since flights of stairs walked up each day is important, just like steps walked.

2) Fitbit app needs to how battery on home screen with % charged

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @Sailboat28!

Charge 5 can't track floors climbed as it is missing the necessary sensor for doing that.
Feature request for bringing back percentage battery display is done.

@Sailboat28 about 1) it's quite clear that it's not going to happen. The new Charge 6 doesn't seem to have an altimeter either which shows the direction Fitbit takes this line of products in.

Hi there, @Sailboat28. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums.

Please note that  floors aren’t tracked on Charge 5, Luxe or any Inspire series devices. Although it is designed without floor feature, your device can track as many activities as other Fitbit devices does. For more information about your Fitbit Charge 5, you can click this link: Fitbit Charge 5 User Manual.

On the other hand, here you find the instructions how to find the battery level:

Please bear in mind there's no way to revert to the old Fitbit app version. Nevertheless, I'd like to invite you to take a look at this post to get the most out of the new Fitbit app.

@Talahthas @Triletics Thank you so much for your participation here!

The directions to see battery on the app does not work, and calling FitBit tech support finally said that the update a week ago trashed the battery function and it will be added back in a future update.

Stairs won't record, but the FitBit rep said that will also be added in a future update for Charge5.

Seems nothing can be done at the present for either problem at present, but FitBit plans to add in future automatic updates.

Hello @Sailboat28

As @Triletics and @Talahthas mentioned, the Charge 5 (& Charge 6) doesn't have an altimeter which is the sensor needed for tracking floors/stairs. Therefore, this feature can't be added in a future Charge 5 update.

We are very hopeful, though, that the % battery will be re-instated in a future app update.
