Charge 5 won't turn on

My Charge 5, bought in Oct 2022 stopped working a few months ago and hasn't started up since. I tried many things - long press charger button, 3 times press, new chargers, clean the whole thing to remove any debris. The worst part is there is absolutely no direct support from Fitbit. This would be my last fitbit device.

Hi there, @fit_anon. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is still not turning on. I understand your concern and how you must be feeling, I will do my best to help you with this!

Sometimes a Fitbit doesn’t seem to be charging when actually the issue is that it has become unresponsive (this can happen if the battery has been allowed to discharge completely). I'd recommend putting it on to charge on a charging wire and outlet known to be working.  Leave it on the charger for a good two hours, even if it doesn’t seem to be charging.

If your Charge 5 doesn't charge after that period of time, note that there are some issues that affect this, being which power source is used and how clean the contacts are and how well the charger is seated. If you are charging your Charge 5 on the wall socket, try using another CE certified USB adapter for low energy devices.

Please confirm if you've tried all tips and recommendations provided here Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

I kept it charged for more than 2 hours. Before that, I cleaned contacts of both charger and charge 5 to make sure there are no obstructions. After that I tried power on methods - pressing the button on charger wire 3 times with 1 sec gap and then wait for 10 seconds. Disconnect charger itself 3 times within 8 seconds and wait for 10 seconds after.

None of these worked. The charge 5 is still dead. (I see that you changed the Subject of this thread).

@fit_anon Since all the steps you tried didn't work, you have a Charge 5 and report it's not charging, I need additional information from you that would best be shared privately. I’m sharing a link to a form for you to fill out so we can look into this further.

This form is only meant for you to use, so let me know once you’re done. Click here to get access to it.
