Charge5 losing Bluetooth sync

Fix the July 31 seemingly untested software update Google.

The July 31 update totally broke charge5. Now it keeps losing Bluetooth sync and most operations now take 3-10 times more taps to operate. It also has lost days info and can be seen in total history but not come back to recent history. Today's info is no t available w/o tapping 10 to 30 times.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @Axjohnson

Thank you for the information you've shared about these issues with your Charge 5.

Some users were experiencing issues to sync their Fitbit device after and outage, but this should now be resolved. Let me know if you continue to have the same problem. Before considering other options, please make sure to complete a restart procedure  using the charging cable:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end of the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

In case the problem is related to the app, please follow the additional steps listed here below:

  • Log out from the app.
  • Clear Cache for the Fitbit app on your phone's settings (Settings > Apps > Fitbit app > Storage > Clear cache)
  • Restart your phone.
  • Log back in to check if you're able to see your data.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the app, as this has been useful for other users experiencing something similar.
  • Try to set up your Charge 5 as a new device in your account if you're still having the same problem.
  • Follow these steps if you're constantly having trouble to sync your information.

Thanks again for taking the time to share all this information. The team continues to work to improve the Fitbit experience and your feedback is a big part of that process.

I'll be around.
