Considering purchasing Charge 5

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I want it to specifically measure my hr and warn me if I pass a certain threshold.

I also want to have access to reports over time. Would I need to pay the hefty premium charge to get access?

And in general, is this watch recommended?

Thank you

Had a charge 2 for many years and loved it. Screen cracked and still worked for over a year. Had every option not paying premium Then the charge 5 came into my life. Purchased 8/2022 with the extra accidental warranty. Worked beautifully, did Not pay premium. Had sleep score and breakdown-important, oxygen in that sleep score, steps, lighting movement, heart beats, everything it could have. Screen went black on 6/7/23. After a few days with customer service, discovered accidental insurance has no records, Fitbit said they see it was purchased and I should have received an email which I didn’t. After a full day of troubleshooting, then sent out a replacement watch piece. I have had nothing put trouble with syncing and now the sleep score is not working after the 5 days. There are no notifications either. Clock and steps are the only thing that is currently working. Been extremely satisfied with Fitbit over the years, but I have to say, if this thing doesn’t get its act together, I’m getting an apple.

Hi & welcome @zuhura2

First of all, please be aware that this is a product help forum. The majority of the posts you see here are about issues that users are having with their device. However, that doesn't indicate the reliability of the device. Since we don't know how many have been sold, we can't determine the failure rate. For example, if 10,000 units out of 1,000,000 sold experience an issue that can't be resolved, that is 1% failure rate.

When I was looking to buy a health tracker, various reviews rated the Charge 5 as the top or one of the top wearables. I like the size, features, and function of the Charge 5. It was also on sale due to Prime Day competitive pricing. I've been happy with my decision.

Since you have specific requirements, you might want to check to make sure that the Charge 5 meets them. This page provides details about: How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit

This link gives you the details about: What should I know about Fitbit Premium

If you let us know what reports you'd want, we can let you know if they are available with the Charge 5.

Lastly, if you are concerned about the issues you see in this forum, you might want to consider getting an extended warranty. From what I've read, the option to get an extended warranty is available up to 30 days after your purchase.
