Dead Charge 5

I had take my Fitbit off to shower and when I put it back on afterwards, it was completely unresponsive.  The charge before I took it off was ~90%. I put the Fitbit on the charger and did a reset. The device now displayed the Fitbit logo and after a while a circled X.  It was not responsive to tapping.  I uninstalled the app from my phone and then reinstalled and tried to reconnect to the device without any success.  Now, the Fitbit no longer vibrates when connected to the charger and the screen is black.

Same thing happened to me today. Nothing is working to restart my Charge 5.

I haven’t been able to to do any of the services that require you to gently squeeze the sides of my Charge 5 for at least a month. I tried all of the online recommendations, the did a live chat that had me do exactly what the online troubleshooting said to do. They gave me a help ticket, the e-mail help ticket response said ti do what the chat had me do which was the same as the online troubleshooting.

Not shockingly, it didn’t work the second and third times after not working the first time. They provided no way to contact them about my ticket.

The best I can say is I think you and I are screwed for buying the Charge 5.

Same thing happened to me. Charge the device and update the Firmware. It works now.

I thought the same. I went swimming yesterday and suddenly it stopped working. I don't usually expose it to water although I believe is recognizes swimming as an workout. I charged it up and still nothing but it was tracking my steps. I thought I had to buy a new tracker. I updated the Firmware just now Thurs. July 6. and it's working perfectly. Good luck.

great suggestion.....having a hard time even getting any interaction to even update the firmware, let alone turn it on....I have had it charging all day, and the moment I remove the charging magnet, it goes from 99% battery level to zero. Not responding at all. Thanks!
