Does Charge 5 track floors?

I've had the Charge 5 for 3 days and it has not logged any floors since I started using it.

I just did a soft reset and walked up and down a few times. Still nothing

Just checked the related topics and found it doesn't track floors. I'm sorry but that sucks and would have affected my decision to buy. I may decide to return it. Core features like that should not be removed

It's really a pity that the Charge5 doesn't record floors. Mainly because I monitored it daily and followed the progress.

I find it absolutely absurd that you have removed it by not warning before the purchase. If I had known I would not have bought it!

Honestly I'm finding myself much worse in use due to the lack of the button than the charge4

I wouldn't recommend it and I never thought I'd write this because I use the Fitbit since charge 3 and have given for gift several.

Remove the floors conting was a Deal breaker. As I couldn't return it I just gave it and started to use my old cheese 4 again.

I don't know what happened with the product managers but they just built a new product worst the old one.

Sorry, but it is true.

Too add to this.. i will run stairs in a building.  GPS position does not move, does not connect.. but the altimeter did a good job of recording elevation.  I used this exclusively for my "virtual Mount Everest" race last year.  GPS is only good for outdoor activities. It does not record anything indoor.  Stair climbs, Stadium steps.. Agree with you Nihahi.

I have my phone with me all the time anyway, why do I need built in GPS. I rather have the altimiter. I am sure the altimiter is cheaper than the GPS. Also hate not having a button to turn on screen. The wrist flick and touch is flakey and screen goes bananas in the pool. All other Charges models had no problem. Now I have to put it in water mode every time. Ridiculous, I rather not wear it in the pool. If it wasn't for the color screen and brighter screen the Charge 5 is worse in every way than predecessor.

Not sure that's a fair reply. It's not very common to just randomly remove a much loved and useful feature.

It is a wrist rotate @Perix not a flick, and for me it works 99% of the time

That's a bunch of BS! Especially since previous models did. Not disclosing this in the ads is the same as lying that it does. Disappointing and so is Fitbit premium. It tracker is almost useless without it. If I would've known I would have returned it but it was a gift. Go with Garmin.

When was the last time you saw an add that said, "Here is what we do not have. The fitbit store does tell the customer what the device has,bs doesn't mention floirs

I see you're still pretty rude for a community legend

Defend away mate. Pretty much the entire product range has had floor counts. The badge system covers floor counts. The main app records floors. The prior model counted floors. You take that away, MOST people, maybe apart from you, will be caught by surprise. If Fitbit had genuine reasons to remove it, they should stand up and say so. Hiding behind the excuse that they didn't advertise is as having floor counts is complete BS.

@Perix Your comments are right on target.

When I bought my first fitbit, I researched for 2 months before putting out $65.

Sorry but simply saying that a lot ke research before buying would save layer regrets

iPhone can track floors to apple health app. It’s something if you need a record of floors climbed. But I’m also wishing my new charge 5 counted floors and wasn’t taken away… my charge 2 is what I replaced with the charge 5. Feels like it should have kept the floors… feels cheap that to add new features they need to take some away… I’m not sure if I’m as gung ho as I once was for Fitbit anymore. And taking the relax app away from the charge 5 as well when my charge 2 had it. Feels like this latest “upgrade” has left me feeling like I’ll seriously, for real, consider Apple Watch next time. I always stayed away from Apple Watch mainly because I didn’t want to have another item I needed to charge daily, but with the new fitbits taking away features to add new features has me feeling a bit, blah, about the whole thing now. I want additions. Not takeaways and replacements. It just don’t feel like a upgrade as much as it feels like a trade off anymore.
