I bought a fitbit charge 5 a few days back hoping that the health and sleep tracking features will allow me to get better insights in to my health. ECG app does not start and says go to the Discover Tab and assessment reports on the fitbit app (no Discover Tab visible)
I have noted that I am on 17.0.3 version of Iphone and 188.58 firmware version on Charge 5.
On contacting support on 3 occasions they advise without giving any timeline to wait for a firmware upgrade ...exact language quoted below....
The latest firmware update for the Fitbit Charge 5 is 194.78. just sync regularly to have an option to update the firmware of your device. Please check the app regularly, to check if there is an option to update your device
I have asked for a link or a way to get the watch updated with this firmware however I am getting no response from the fitbit support team.
Installing / Uninstalling the ecg app is failing from the gallery view of the fitbit app (multiple attempts) and the reset of the watch to defaults has also not fixed the issue.
Has anyone else faced similar issues and found a solution or is it better to seek a refund and return this unstable product with malfunctioning apps and old firmware?

Hello @SunsetRunner
Considering that you have already contacted Fitbit support 3 times and they advised you to wait for a firmware update, you would probably be better off returning the apparently defective device and getting a refund. So far, we have not heard when the next firmware for the Charge 5 will be released, so it could be months from now.
If you like the fit and form of the Charge 5, you might consider getting the Charge 6, which will be released tomorrow, 12 Oct. The Charge 6 has new features and a physical button. Just be aware that, like the Charge 5, the Charge 6 does not have an altimeter for tracking floors.
