New fit bit. Tried ECG, flashes up with hold the sides very quickly and then screen says error please restart the application.
Have deleted app, synced Fitbit. Restarted Fitbit and reinstalled app and it still shows error.

I had same problem. In phone’s settings, went to Fitbit and turned blue tooth off and back on. Then went again to phone settings and turned phone blue tooth off and back on. Don’t know which of these actions fixed it but ecg working and reporting fine now. Hope that helps.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Pene2. I'm sorry to hear you get an error message when trying ECG on your Charge 5.
Please pair your Charge 5 with your account again. Follow the instructions of: How do I set up a replacement device or add another device to my account?
Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for getting back to us and for letting me know that your Fitbit has been replaced @Pene2.
Did you get another Fitbit or the replacement is the one that is not working?
I look forward to your response.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @MegLN65. Thank you for sharing the steps that worked for you to make ECG working and reporting fine.
They could be useful for other users.
Have a nice day.
Best AnswerWhen I “tap to start” the ECG I get “Error please reopen the application “
I have turned blue tooth off and on as suggested. I have removed and re-paired the device as suggested. Same error.
Same thing happening to me. My ECG app is not working and I need it for my afib episodes. Now it is stuck on the "Place thumb and index finger..." then it counts down to 29 and back to the message. I am really frustrated since my first Fitbit worked well. The replacement seemed to be working for a few weeks then problems. Currently, I am undergoing a cardiac assessment (Zio monitor plastered to my chest for 2 weeks) and would appreciate a working device. I phoned Fitbit and the staff were very patient and helpful, but the replacement is defective.I was told it was an operational problem they are working on and I am to phone back in 3-5 days.
Best AnswerBooHOo tried that but did not help. Neither did restart or reinstalling the ECG app. Hope FItbit can find an answer or send me a new device.
